In a decisive move to address the protracted communal crisis in Ivo Local Government Area, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to restoring peace in the troubled communities.

Governor Nwifuru disclosed this on his official Facebook page, following a meeting with stakeholders from Umobor, Akaeze, and Ogwor, Ishiagu, regarding the ongoing dispute over the Elueke parcel of land.

The Governor announced that the Ebonyi State Government has declared the disputed land a buffer zone, emphasizing that peace must prevail. He issued a two-week ultimatum for the warring parties to meet and work out modalities for a peaceful resolution. Failure to meet this deadline, he warned, would leave the government with no option but to take over the disputed land.

“Peace is paramount,” the Governor declared, underscoring his administration’s unwavering stance on ensuring stability across the state.

The lingering crisis in Ivo LGA has drawn significant attention in recent months, with local communities at odds over land ownership and boundary disputes. The Governor's intervention has sparked hope for a lasting solution, though the ultimatum signals a firm approach to resolving the issue.

Residents and stakeholders alike await the outcome of this two-week window, as the Ebonyi State Government works towards fostering harmony in the affected communities.
